The Merging Traffic Reunion

Saturday, May 16, 2009
Casa Mexicana, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Here's the story. Richard Shook, who lives in Nashville, was attending a wedding that day in Little Rock. So Bob Younts, who also lives in Nashville, called Phil Miller and said he would come to Little Rock too if we could get most of the band members to agree to meet for a reunion. Everyone in the band was contacted except for Gary Hall who couldn't be reached and all agreed that we should get together and have a reunion.

Next question was the location. Turns out Phil was playing in a band called "Chuey and the Dudes" who happened to be playing at Casa Mexicana that Saturday night so it was decided this would be the best place for the throw down. Other musician friends were contacted and we all met at the restaurant around 5:00 pm to party and reminisce. Chewy and the Dudes played from 8:00 to 10:00 so we had a five hour party and everyone had a blast.

Here's a list of the band members and some of the others who were there...

So here are some of the pictures I made that night.

By the way I know I have mispelled some of the names or left some people out altogether. Please, if you notice any errors in the copy above or in any of the captions below the pictures, or if you know the names of any of the people in the pictures that I may have forgotten or left out, give me an email at boblinc@swbell.net and I will make corrections. What the hell, go ahead and send me an email anyway!

Another website that might be of interest is one I wrote after a concert/celebration down at the Arkansas RiverMarket back in November, 1999. The Central Arklansas Library System had just released an audio CD of several of the tunes recorded by some of the bands from the local area during the latter half of the 1960s. These bands included The Romans (predecessor of The Merging traffic), The Coachmen, The Culls, The Dutchmasters, and many more. Click HERE to go to this page.

One last thing. Some of you may be interested in 8 1/2 x 11 color photographs of some of the following images. All images on this page have been reduced in resolution so this page doesn't take forever to download to your computer. I have the full resolution images of over 175 pictures I shot that night and can print them for you or arrange to get a CD to you. Let me know if you are interested by sending me an email at boblinc@swbell.net.

Thank you very much!
